Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL)
HSL is an Agency of the Health and Safety Executive, applying science to make workplaces healthier, safer and more productive. Internationally recognised as a leader in health and safety, it provides research, consultancy, technical support and training to public and private sector customers.
HSL's scientists and engineers cover a wide spectrum of disciplines, from microbiology to work psychology, social science to process safety and ergonomics to computational modelling.
HSL's facilities are unrivalled for carrying out impact tests, fires and explosions etc, and complemented by specialist laboratories equipped for biomedical, occupational hygiene, environmental measurements, human factors and safety engineering studies.
